Google Sheets is an online program that you can access through your internet browser or mobile app. While you're connected to the internet, your spreadsheet will save automatically as you use it. To access your spreadsheet in the future, simply go to sheets.google.com where you can find an overview of all your spreadsheets and access them with ease.

We take extra precautions to secure all the formulas in our spreadsheets with warnings to ensure your peace of mind. However, it's possible that an unintentional change may alter the function of the spreadsheet. 

Fortunately, Google provides the option to revert to a previous version, even if you accidentally closed the browser tab. 

To access a previously working version of your spreadsheet, simply click on "File" in the top toolbar and then select "Version History". You can review the different versions of the spreadsheet from different dates and switch back to a version that worked as intended

The good news is that you don't have to enter your transactions in a specific order in the spreadsheet as it automatically reads the date, amount, and subcategory and matches them to the correct month or paycheck. However, you may prefer to organize your transactions in the log tab to make them easier to read. To sort your transactions by date in chronological order, follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the "A" column header, which represents the date column.

2. A drop-down menu will appear, select "Sort sheet A-Z."

3. Your transactions will now be sorted in chronological order by date.

When you first open the budget or overview page of the spreadsheet, the graphs at the top may appear empty or display an error code. This is because there is no data available for the graphs to read. However, as you start adding transactions to your log tab, the graphs will automatically update and begin to display data.

If you have a sinking fund in your budget or using one of our “+” spreadsheets, you may be wondering how to withdraw money from the savings tab. Fortunately, it is a straightforward process. All you need to do is log a negative transaction, such as “-100”. This will withdraw the money from the savings tab and make it available again for the month or paycheck you have entered the transaction for.

Our budget, overview, and dashboard pages (depending on the spreadsheet you purchased) all have data filters that allow you to display data from the tracker tabs (such as the tracker tab) for specific dates. If you don't see any data, check if you have selected the correct dates in the top left corner of the page.

If the data still doesn't appear, make sure that you have entered amounts as "10.00" instead of "10,00". Google Sheets uses a period (.) instead of a comma (,) to read transactions. Also, ensure that you have entered an amount, date, category, and subcategory for each transaction.

Once you click on the link provided in the PDF, a page will open in your web browser. At the top right corner of the page, you will see a button labeled "Use Template." Simply click on it, and within a few seconds, a personal copy of the spreadsheet that is accessible only to you should open.

However, Google Sheets can sometimes experience glitches. If the spreadsheet doesn't open or only opens in "view only" mode, try the following troubleshooting options:

• View only mode: In the top toolbar, click on "File" and then select "Make a Copy." This will create a copy of the spreadsheet that will provide you with full access. If this doesn't work, try the other options listed below.

• Open the spreadsheet from a computer or laptop: We've noticed that the spreadsheet doesn't always open the first time when accessed from a phone, tablet, or similar devices. For that reason, we recommend opening the spreadsheet from a computer or laptop for the first time.

• Check your Google Drive storage space: If your Google Drive is full or nearly full, it may not allow you to access the spreadsheet and show only "view only" instead. To check if you have enough storage space, go to drive.google.com, and in the left-hand side menu, you'll see how much storage space you have left.

• Try a different browser: If you're still having trouble accessing the spreadsheet, make sure your browser is up to date. If it is and the spreadsheet still doesn't work, try a different browser.

• Ensure you're logged into Google Sheets: The spreadsheet won't open if you're not logged into your Google Sheets account, or if you're trying to open the template in an incognito window. If your spreadsheet isn't opening, try the following steps:

  1. Close all tabs and windows in which you tried to open the spreadsheet.

  2. Go to sheets.google.com.

  3. Log in with the Google account you want to use to access the spreadsheet.

  4. Click on the link in the PDF, then click "Use Template." The spreadsheet should now open.

Although we suggest opening the spreadsheet on a computer or laptop for the first time, there are no limitations on the devices you can use to open or edit your spreadsheet. 

However, if you want to access your spreadsheet on your tablet or phone, we strongly suggest downloading the Google Sheets app, which is available for Android and Apple devices, to make it more convenient to access the spreadsheets.

Google Sheets has a feature that allows you to edit and access your spreadsheets even when you don't have an internet connection. To use this feature, you need to enable offline access for Google Drive. To do this, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Open Google Drive on your computer.

2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select "Settings."

3. Check the box next to "Offline" to enable offline access.

Once you have enabled offline access, you will be able to access and edit your Google Sheets spreadsheets even when you don't have an internet connection. To learn more about using and editing your spreadsheets online, you can visit the Google Docs Help platform for more information.

If you would like to access the spreadsheet with multiple Google Accounts, for example because you would like to share your budget with your partner. Take the following steps:

• In the top right corner of the spreadsheet you will see a big green “Share” button, click it.

• In the bar that says “add people or groups” type in the email address of the person you would like to share the spreadsheet with

• Pick what kind of access you would like to give the person you would like to add:

- Viewer: the person can see the data in the spreadsheet but not make any changes

- Editor: The person can view the spreadsheet and make changes

- Owner: the person can view, edit, and has the option to now remove you from the spreadsheet

• Click on the send button

If you have purchased a spreadsheet but would like to access it with a different Google account, don't worry! Our spreadsheets are not tied to the email address of your Etsy account, so you can easily access them with any Google account of your choice.

Here are the steps to access the spreadsheet with the correct Google account:

1. Go to sheets.google.com.

2. Log in with the Google account that you want to use to access the spreadsheet.

3. Click on the link in the PDF and click on "Use Template".

After following these steps, you will be able to access the spreadsheet with the desired Google account.

Our spreadsheets are exclusively created for use on Google Sheets. Since Google Sheets is an online program, we cannot provide a direct file to the spreadsheet. Instead, we provide a PDF file that includes a link to your spreadsheet along with instructions on how to use it.

As this product is digital, we cannot provide any returns or refunds. Once you have downloaded your purchase, you will have permanent access to it.

If you accidentally made a purchase, please do not download it. We can check our dashboard to see if the purchase has been downloaded. We can only cancel your purchase if none of the products included in your purchase have been downloaded.

Our store offers spreadsheets that are exclusively designed for Google Sheets and may not function properly on Excel. Although Google Sheets and Excel share some similarities, they have significant differences in their formulas and formula setup. 

If a spreadsheet is exported to an Excel format, the formulas may not translate properly, causing the spreadsheet to malfunction. As a result, we strongly advise against exporting your spreadsheet and recommend using it exclusively in Google Sheets.
